Lessons, rental, foiling and storage
Everything KiteMood offers on the Marsa Alam lagoon: IKO lessons and courses, equipment rental, supervised rental and wing foiling, plus beach use and storage for your own kit.

KiteMood offers kitesurfing services in Marsa Alam for every kind of kitesurfer: lessons and courses for beginners and improvers, equipment rental for riders who are ready to go alone, wing foiling and a beach service for your own kite equipment. We are an IKO-approved kitesurfing school on a protected lagoon in the south of Marsa Alam, on the Red Sea coast of Egypt.
The lagoon is one of the best places to learn kitesurfing, with a very high chance of wind all year round. Check the wind forecast before you come.
Not sure where to start? The guide below points you to the right page, or you can message us and we will help you choose.
Pick the line that sounds most like you.
Start with Level 1 – Discovery, or choose a beginner package: the 6-hour course or the 8-hour course.
Carry on with Level 2 – Intermediate to learn body drag and the waterstart. Already up and riding and want a refresh before renting? Take the refresher course.
Work on speed control, upwind riding and a basic jump in the advanced course, or book a one-to-one session in advanced kitesurfing tricks.
Choose supervised rental: all the equipment, an IKO Assistant Instructor who stays with you and boat rescue on standby. You need to have completed IKO Level 2.
Rent a full quiver, a kite and bar or a twintip on our equipment rental page, or try a wing foil set on the foiling page. To rent without supervision, you need to be an independent rider and be able to ride upwind.
Our beach use and storage service covers storage, kite inflating, gear washing, launch and landing assistance, Wi-Fi and two rescues.
Our lessons follow the IKO Kiteboarding Training Path. Each level has its own page with the full lesson content, and you can see them all on our kitesurfing courses page.

Yes. KiteMood is an IKO-approved kitesurfing school. We follow IKO guidelines in all our kite classes, and all our instructors are trained and certified by IKO. We give lessons for the first three groups of the IKO Kiteboarding Training Path: Discovery, Intermediate and Independent.
Lessons include the transfer between the school and the beach; kites, boards, harnesses, helmets, life vests, wetsuits and other gear during lessons; radio assistance, so you are in touch with your instructor by radio at all times; IKO Level 2 instructors; the IKO Kiteboarder Card and level certification once you have completed the level; and a low student-to-instructor ratio, with a maximum of 2:1. Each course page lists the details for that course.
To rent without supervision, you need to be an independent rider and be able to ride upwind. Unsupervised rentals need a deposit and are subject to our rental terms, and if you do not have an IKO Kiteboarder Card we give you a short assessment before you rent.
